After five successful editions in its home base Utrecht (and some co-productions for instance at the large Summer Darkness festival) NOISE CENTRAL FESTIVAL spreads its wings for its sixth edition to nowhere less than the well-known Tilburg venue 013.
NOISE CENTRAL FESTIVAL offers a broad spectrum of noise music ranging from droning ambient to industrial, from electronoiserock to noisescapes, from tekno to digital hardcore, from IDM to rhythmic noise and from that to power electronics.
Previous editions have seen performances by internationally renowned noise artists such as Flint Glass, Xabec, Leiche Rustikal, Flutwacht, Phelios, Mono No Aware, Ambassador 21, Mono-Amine, Nin Kuji, The [Law-Rah] Collective and for its last to date: the well-known Berlin DJ Donna Summer. With each edition NOISE CENTRAL FESTIVAL aims to showcase the width and depth of the genre, hereby creating synergy between noise artists and labels. Each edition is followed by an after party until the early hours, with (inter)nationally respected DJs spinning the festival to its climax.
For its sixth edition thus far and first edition in the Tilburg area NOISE CENTRAL FESTIVAL has brought together a line-up of four acts and two DJs from three different countries and well-known labels.
Detritus

The line-up for NOISE CENTRAL FESTIVAL VI is led by Detritus from the UK. Some say Detritus gives Massive Attack a run for its money, while at the same time being a perfect fit to the ominous movies by David Lynch. However apt, Detritus is more than moody and melancholic pianos, strange vocal samples and triphoppy sub basses alone. Experimental drum-n-bass filled to the max with breaks and IDM glitches merge seamlessly with organic and acoustic sounds like strings and thundering guitar eruptions.

Frantic breakbeats and cavernous drums make Detritus into one hell of a dark and experimental dance floor hit. Fresh, innovative, beat-driven, aggressive and melancholic, drum-n-bassy IDM with hiphop and triphop influences and distorted industrial guitars, its all there in the mesmerizing and wholly unique musical universe of Detritus. With his latest album Fractured out on Ad Noiseam and a new one - Borderline - coming up later this year, Detritus is surely one of experimental electronics / industrials most incisive acts with deep emotional richness and a hard hitting beat. NOISE CENTRAL FESTIVAL VI thus proudly presents: Detritus.
ESA

Co-headlining this edition is no one less than ESA. Begun in 2002, Electronic Substance Abuse has quickly built up quite a name in the underground scene - not in the least because of his powerful live shows - and is now considered one of the most popular and innovative acts of the genre. Taking influences from European rhythmical noise acts initially, ESAs sound has now developed to integrate many influences from the broad spectrum of alternative and extreme music, making it a perfect headliner for NOISE CENTRAL FESTIVAL.

Harsh and oppressive, destructive and corroded, expect a threatening, stomping and yet twisted sound that quickly got the crowd moving at the Propulsion party/festival in April this year. While the band previously released on Hive Records, ESAs third album The Sea & The Silence came out on Tympanik Audio, one of the most exciting and original upcoming new labels. From the new found home at Tympanik Audio ESA confidently stirs up the electronic and industrial scene and crosses boundaries into uncharted territories. Jet black oppressiveness offset by pure industrial and rhythmic noise anthems, breaks in galore and a dash of IDM-core, ESA will set the NOISE CENTRAL FESTIVAL VI ablaze, pummel your eardrums and send the dance floor into full meltdown. All lovers of pure industrial dance noise unite for this unique mastermind called: ESA!
Tapage

Also on Tympanik Audio, kicking off the sixth edition of NOISE CENTRAL FESTIVAL and equally exciting is the Dutch Tapage. Inspired by IDM and breakcore as well as post-rock and avant-garde, Tapage is an experimental sound-manipulation act that creates complicated, harsh rhythms with dream-like and compelling atmosphere. On NOISE CENTRAL FESTIVAL VI Tapage will present a cross-section of this work, not excluding his newest album Fallen Clouds which came out earlier this year.
Fractional

After Tapage the stage and floor is to the addictive broken beats and drum n bass of Fractional. His latest album Come Mierda came out on Gwenn Flint Glass Tremorins Brume Records and is praised for its unpredictability, complexity and many stylistic influences. Groovy, urgent, addictive and very danceable! One of the remixes on Come Mierda was done by one of Ad Noiseam s most successful acts: Detritus who will co-headline the bill for the sixth edition of NOISE CENTRAL FESTIVAL VI. Broken beats, drum-n-bass, IDM and noise battle for the lead role thus in Fractionals often cinematic and lush arrangements. For NOISE CENTRAL FESTIVAL VI Fractional will focus mainly on the loud, pounding and more aggressive side of his musical spectrum paving the noisy way for ESA en Detritus while staying true to his core of broken IDM beats, drum-n-bass, dubstep, noise and a dash of breakcore!
Immediately following these four dynamic acts, the NOISE CENTRAL FESTIVAL VI will be taken to a further climax by the NOISE CENTRAL FESTIVAL DJ team, this time consisting of resident DJ DistortedChaos (Cyberia, Dwaalspoor, IntonaRumori) and guest-DJ CNFSD (Cenobytes). Expect a long night of breaks, IDM, rhythm noise, industrial, breakcore and more! No sleep till the early hours!
