Wasser bietet seit jeher eine Projektionsfläche für allerlei gedankliche Spielereien und phantastische Träe. Auf Tauchfahrt könnte nicht besser betitelt sein, denn knüpfen doch die Ambientflächen an eben jene skizzierte Assoziationskette an. Es ist gut vorstellbar, dass es unter Wasser genau so klingt, wie auf diser CD: dumpf, manchmal grollend, manchmal klar und befreiend, immer geheimnisvoll und diffus.

Synapscape and The Rorschach Garden member P. Muench released a dark ambient under the name Mandelbrot. B. Teichner (also involved in The Rorschach Garden) gave him a hand. This album features nine mesmerizing dynamic soundscapes that are good musical interpretations of the title (translated "on a dive") and the CD cover. Listening to Auf tauchfahrt catapultizes the listener into another world, an environment far below the ocean surface, where things get mysterious and slightly creepy. Atmospheric bells-like structures and moments of thunder give the music this mysterious touch. In general the music of this German project is powerfull and strong, with outbursts of rumbling bass. Music that produces images of a deep sea world.

Hmmm, Problem ist die Unterstützung von ogg, die oftmals fehlt. Klar, alle Standard-Player können es mittlerweile, aber sobald man ein mp3-DJ-Tool wie Traktor anpackt, ist schon wieder Schluss. Genauso, wenn man es irgendwie anders weiterbearbeiten will, dann hilft oft nur noch der Umweg über wav oder aiff. Einzig Tracktion (von Mackie) kann ogg, aber kein mp3 - zumindest in der 1.0 Version ... wie es in der neuen ist, kann ich auch nicht sagen. Ist zwar für ein Probehör-File auf der Webseite nicht unbedingt ausschlaggebend, aber wild mischen is auch nicht so mein Ding.
Von daher: Eigentlich für ogg, dem oftmals mangelhaften Handling Tribut zollend dann doch mp3.

Mit Mandelbrot präsentieren wir Euch einen neuen Dark Ambient Act auf unserem Label. Mandelbrot wurde 1994 von P. Muench (Synapscape, The Rorschach Garden etc.) gegründet und veröffentlichte zunächst das Tape "1000 Ships at the Bottom of the Ocean" (1995) und die CD-R "Seasons" (2002) auf Fich Art. Die CD "Auf Tauchfahrt" endstand nun gemeinsam mit B. Teichner (The Rorschach Garden) und ist ab sofort in unserem Mailorder erhältlich.
