Getting Away With Murder is an exemplarily broad selection of current heavy electronics, concentrating mainly on the "power" side of that genre. Nevertheless it's primarily a whole, in which every one of its parts fits flawlessly within weakest moments included so that a listener enjoys it thoroughly from start to finish. Production quality is frankly perfect, and every performer on the album creates fantastically different variations from the basically similar base elements they are using. The record opens with Maison Close's annoyingly high-pitched squeal, behind which later appears a rhythm and saturated voice loops. PPF continues from there with a rhythmic droning and saturated screams, creating a very good piece as a result. Sektion B nevertheless does even better with a truly wonderful combination of a sonic wall, machine gun rhythm and vocal samples in both English and German. And the powerful line-up continues still: Propergol's The Last Laugh - Lenny Bruce is a textbook example on the correct use of dominant samples, with a backlayer of extremely well-controlled noise. Moribund offers us more traditional heavy electronics combined with verbal boasting, as does Slogun. Slogun's track, while surprisingly being the album's definite weakest link, is nevertheless well above average in quality. Cleanse's piece utilizes a very innovative rotating frequency combination that simultaneously creates pure noise and full sound loops. Control (whose recent album Algolagnia was excellent, by the way) presents a coherent noise-wall, one full of small intriguing details if listened to closely enough. Strom.ec's Prosecution/Focus uses a subtle bass backbeat covered with steady-rhythm noise and saturated screaming. It sounds like a "lesser" work, but only due to the incredible quality of Strom.ec's typical work. For them it's only mediocre, from most other PE artists it would be a masterpiece. The often criticized Survival Unit is at its strongest here, offering quite subdued, stylish noise accompanied by screaming and radio speech. Green Army Fraction (ft. Third Mind) creates confusing propaganda music by combining noise clips, acoustic tribal drumming and buzzwords. Grunt wraps up the album with a good fusion of its own stylistic forms and! some very Strom.ec-like base sounds.

This is the best Power Electronics collection I've encountered so far. Get it while you still can.
